GoPro Bringing Live Streaming, Camera Controlling Smartphone App

This fall, perhaps as early as late summer, GoPro will release an iPhone/Android app that’ll link up with its WiFi BacPac and let you remote control up to 50 Hero2 cameras from your phone.

Initially, it’ll also let you view recorded footage from any BacPac equipped camera. By the end of the year, it should also let you live stream video to your smartphone via wifi. Altogether, that combines the benefits of the WiFi and LCD BacPacs. The app will be free, and the WiFi kit is $99.

GOPRO’S HD HERO 2 Wi-Fi Streaming App is “Pie in the Sky.”

    A SUGGESTION TO GOPRO:
    (Reason for this Web Site)

Since GoPro’s coders can’t seem to produce a working App; instead of having the promise of an App that never materializes–Coming Soon, how about putting out a Software Developer’s Kit (SDK) for the GoPro HD HERO2 and offer an, “X Prize,” for the best App submission. There are some very talented people out there!
