Maxis Berhad (‘Maxis’), Malaysia’s leading integrated communications service provider, is pleased to announce its partnership with the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) as their official mobile service provider for OCM at the 2012 London Olympic Games for the first time. In this capacity, Maxis will be providing the Malaysian Olympic contingent with special mobile packages worth RM1,500 each, enabling them to have the freedom to connect with their family and friends anytime and anywhere, thus giving them peace of mind while competing at the world’s most prestigious sporting event and achieving their Olympic dreams.

At a signing ceremony held today at Wisma Olimpik, Maxis was represented by Sandip Das, Chief Executive Officer and Nasution Mohamed, Chief Financial Officer, while OCM was represented by YBhg Dato’ A Sani Karim, Deputy President, and YBhg Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi, Honorary Secretary. Witnessing the signing and exchange of documents on behalf of both parties respectively were YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad bin Raja Tun Uda, Chairman of Maxis, and YAM Tunku Tan Sri Imran Tuanku Ja’afar, President of OCM.

Maxis’ partnership with OCM reflects its continued commitment in the area of sports and talent development. In 2011, Maxis introduced its Maxis Sports Ambassadors programme with the hopes of inspiring other Malaysians to strive for excellence at the highest level, by providing each Ambassador with mobile devices with wireless broadband packages.
