Strong team led by Olympic gold-medallist Alexandr Vinokurov looking for Basque Country glory

The unmissable Clásica di San Sebastián takes place on August 14th and could be the race of the summer. Now in its 32nd year, the San Sebastián is counted as one of the ‘monuments’ of the UCI ProTour, despite its relative youth. The heat and the vast crowds that turn out to watch combine to make this a truly special race, and Pro Team Astana will be ready to ride out of their skins on the 234 km parcours as they hunt for victory on the famous Donostia Boulevard.

The squad selected for the San Sebastián will be led by newly-crowned Olympic champion Alexandr Vinokurov and features a good mix of skills and characteristics. Given the unpredictable route, this variety adds an extra competitive edge to Astana’s chances.

Directeur sportif Alexandr Shefer said: “We are coming to the San Sebastián with a good team that will give it their all to get on the podium.
